More Art Therapy

A few more cartoons from my book ART THERAPY. These were first drawn with Pentel Sign Pen and then scanned and colored on the computer using Photoshop Elements 2.0

Coloring cartoons and other line art on the computer is easy and also a joy. It's much faster than adding color using traditional mediums. You can do two or three versions for evaluation purposes, a real advantage.

Digital parodies of the fine art world

When I first started experimenting with the computer I created a series of digital prints which are parodies of famous artists and the fine art world. These were done using the Adobe Photoshop 5.0 program. Below is a poster for an exhibition of these prints, it depicts myself among some beauties from some of Modigliani's paintings and is titled WAITING FOR AMEDEO. They have been exhibited as limited edition prints in various galleries and art centers. These studies are just more examples of what can be created with the amazing computer medium.

More color & design studies

A few more digital color and design studies to demonstrate the many variations possible. You are only limited by your own imagination.

Above is a more complex design using limited colors. The computer is the perfect medium for doing studies like these.

I added some type to this design to show that graphics like these can also have a commercial value. Some of these designs could easily be developed as limited edition fine art prints.

DigiArt 14

Studies like these could be used as sketches for larger paintings done using traditional mediums.

Digital color & design studies

When I first began experimenting with the computer I did a lot of color and design pieces like those shown below. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the computer and the various programs. These were all created with the Adobe Photoshop 5.0 program.

Some parts of these images were picked up from previous paintings, so they could be considered collages.

When doing experiments like these (and you SHOULD do them !) don't be afraid to use wild colors, anything goes !
